Week11

This week I haven't done enough work on my project as I should have done or planned in my head, the real reason for this is because I was generally just choosing to do other things or not motivated enough to do work. The logo and shopping cart were two things which were meant to be embedded into the website but I still haven't completed them yet. I had made screen prints of the code which was done in Notepad++ plus the website itself to show the progress of how it is going along with the gradual editing done. Under the screen prints of the starter coding work I have described what it is I'm doing and why I am doing it. Apart from that nothing further has been done on the project at all, for the next week I aim to do more project associated work. The stuff I plan to do for next week are to sort out the logo design and have a shopping cart, both of these need to be coded into the website and another thing I can do is choose a website background I like along with text fonts and colours for them. Another thing I need to do is keep showing the screen prints along with their descriptions in the documentation and fill out anything else in the documentation which may be outstanding. Aim for next week is work more.   

Week10

Last week was Week10, in that week I only did basic stuff like making a start on coding the website. The coding which I have started is just simple such as header and footer parts plus the background colour. Next week I will officially put the rest of the colour scheme in the website along with changing the colour of text(s) and possibly deciding on fonts.I have also been debating what I want to be my logo for this website but I am thinking I am going to stick to a logo of a dress like I have shown in my website samples because it is girly and I like it. I have named the different pages on my navigation bar which HTML pages created for them but the content on the pages itself needs editing. Most of this is just the basic beginning of the website which doesn't seem like much but it's a start. I haven't made any changes to any of the content that is currently on the website template but this is something I can tackle in the following week and I can possibly make accounts. The content for these accounts can be added later on so I can have time to think about what I want to display, a logo is something else I need to make ASAP. I have been doing my project paperwork such as talking about the website samples and ghant chart notes. 

Week9

Week9 is the recent week which has just passed by, in this week I began doing more work on the project such as checking that the website samples were complete to a reasonable standard ready to display in the presentation. The ghant chart was also another thing I was meaning to start but hadn't yet got to it due to other assignments taking first priority. Monday was the day of the presentation so i had to have that prepared, a start up of a ghant chart to show what I plan to do in these early stages. That day (Monday) everything for the presentation purposes was completed including delivering the presentation to my lecturer and the class members, my idea for my project was approved and has been given the go ahead. There were a few comments and feedback at the end of my presentation but I took it as constructive criticism, it wasn't criticising as such but it gave me a few ideas which weren't included on the website samples but can be added or be done straight in the coding part. During that day I watched other people's presentations and made plans for what work I would like to do on my project from 1st December 2017 onwards. That week I did no further work on the project even though I should have but next week it is.

Week8

Week7

For that week it was about preparing materials to present to the lecturer and to students from my class. This included finishing off my PowerPoint presentation ready to present along with the sample website pages so that people can see what I want my coded website to look like. With the sample website pages this will allow others to see whether it meets the standards of my project brief and the target audience of who my website is supposed to be designed for. This is something similar to what I did for my Website Design unit in the previous year for the HNC. Once my website sample pages have been seen I can wait for the correct approval of if any tweaking needs to be done, improvements or any suggested changes in general. One thing which I haven't yet made is the ghant chart which should show the timescales of what should be done and by what date certain tasks must be completed by. For Week8 my plan is to work on other assignments for the course then come back to the project. Although I say come back to the project I need to make sure that i actually do so rather than forgetting or leaving all the difficult parts until the last minute. Week8 can be for doing the minor parts and presentation bits. 

Week6

N/A (nothing done)! The reason for this is because I have been focusing on other assignments such as finishing the Programming in  Java Assignment 1 along with the Web Applications Development/Internet Server Management Assignment 1. I felt over the past week that these needed more attention as the Programming in Java one had a deadline for the Thursday just gone and the assignment needed a start made to it before continuing with any project related work. The week starting 13th November I will definitely do some project work, this includes finishing the PowerPoint presentation and the templates for my website. Alongside those I may need to check my documentation for this unit just to see if anything needs filling in or talking about in general. I am slightly behind on the project so my current plan is finish assignments ASAP then do project work. In the coming weeks before Christmas i will definitely put in more effort and work towards practically starting my project as i would like a good head start before the Christmas holidays come about. This should include stuff such as getting a ghant chart done and keeping up to date with that and making a layout/colour scheme prepared for the site.
